The prices in real estate in Kolkata, in the West Bengal region have had a strong rise in the last couple of months. The real estate prices for second hand homes have gone through a strong increase in this city.
The price per sq.foot in Kolkata has increased strongly during the last 6 months. In April, the average price per sq.foot was ₹ 5,033. In the following month the price per sq.foot increased considerably to ₹ 6,386. The price for the following two months in (June, July) had a considerable increment of 117 %. The price per sq.foot has had a considerable deflation of 76 % in the last two months compared to the average price for the previous four months. This was obtained by comparing the first four months of the period going from a price per sq.foot of ₹ 6,206.5 to ₹ 4,705 during August, and September.
Based upon to the price in Kolkata (cities), this has gone up considerably in the last 6 months. The average price during our first sample month during April, is ₹ 61.03 lakhs. During May the price went through a considerable rise reaching ₹ 87.15 lakhs. During the following two months (June, July) the price has had an average incrementation from ₹ 74.09 lakhs to ₹ 81.07 lakhs. During the last two months the average price has had a strong fall compared to the previous four going from ₹ 77.58 lakhs to ₹ 55.44 lakhs, which means a 71 % fall.
